Cato CTRL to expose how hackers manipulate AI tools

TEL AVIV, Israel, May 7, 2025 Cato Networks, the SASE leader, today announced that Etay Maor (chief security strategist at Cato Networks and member of Cato CTRL) will present at Secure360 2025 in Prior Lake, Minnesota, which is an event produced by the Upper Midwest Security Alliance (UMSA).

The session, “Taking the bAIt: Using and Abusing AI-Based Systems” (Wednesday, May 14 at 11:00 AM CT), will dive into cutting-edge research and real-world examples showing how threat actors are exploiting vulnerabilities in AI models, agents, and applications. The session will also address the growing challenge of shadow AI—the unsanctioned use of AI tools within organizations—and shed light on new image-based attack techniques emerging in the threat landscape.

“AI is transforming cybersecurity, both as a defense mechanism and as a target,” said Etay Maor, chief security strategist at Cato Networks and member of Cato CTRL. “It’s critical that enterprises understand how threat actors are adapting, so they can better defend themselves in this new age of AI threats.”
