Assaf Peleg

Security Researcher

Assaf Peleg is a Security Researcher at Cato Networks, where he brings deep analytical expertise and strategic vision to the development of advanced threat detection and network security solutions. He works closely with research, data, and engineering teams to translate cutting-edge insights into practical and impactful security innovations. Prior to joining Cato in 2025, Assaf spent over three years at Check Point as a Data Scientist in the foundational XDR team. During his time there, he led cross-functional efforts, working with multiple teams across the organization and driving the adoption of Generative AI technologies to enhance detection and analytics capabilities. Earlier in his career, Assaf contributed to a startup focused on deriving precise location intelligence from network signals, and served five years in the Israeli Navy’s Electronic Warfare (EW) unit, gaining hands-on experience in signal intelligence and defense technologies. Assaf holds an M.Sc. in Engineering from Tel Aviv University and brings over a decade of experience at the intersection of cybersecurity, data science, and signal processing.
