Karel Hynek

Research Team Lead

Karel Hynek leads Cato’s App-Network research team, which analyzes network and SaaS application traffic to generate insights for the Cato Cloud platform. He has more than seven years of experience in cybersecurity and computer networks research, including work with major security vendors. Karel holds a PhD from the Czech Technical University, where he researched how increasing traffic encryption affects visibility of security tools and their ability to detect and prevent threats.
