Cato CTRL’s Etay Maor to demonstrate how AI is being utilized by threat actors

TEL AVIV, Israel, February 26, 2025 Cato Networks, the SASE leader, today announced that Etay Maor (chief security strategist at Cato Networks and member of Cato CTRL) will present at HIMSS25 in Las Vegas, which is the world’s largest gathering of health IT professionals collaborating to address healthcare’s greatest challenges.

The session, “Adversarial AI: How Threat Actors Use and Abuse AI Systems” (Wednesday, March 5 at 10:00 AM PT), will review the current AI landscape. Maor will cover the various AI models in the market, how they can be used by cybersecurity professionals, and how they’re utilized by threat actors.

In addition, Maor will dive into Russian underground chats and show what threat actors are saying about AI. Examples will include how private GPTs can be hacked, usage of images to manipulate AI-based solutions, and examples of feedback poisoning and prompt injections.

“There is a lot of hype around AI in cybersecurity including how it can be used to defend, how it can be used to attack, and how it can be abused,” said Etay Maor, chief security strategist at Cato Networks and member of Cato CTRL. “My session will dive deeper into each area and show real-world cases of how AI is being utilized for good and bad.”
